Circular Factory launches FOAK knowledge base

Building physical, capital-intensive factories is a complex and long-term process, in which entrepreneurs face technical, financial, organisational and operational challenges. Many of the lessons involved are learned in practice, but often remain implicit and fragmented. With this knowledge base, Circular Factory aims to make these insights more accessible and to actively intensify knowledge exchange between founders.

The knowledge base is part of a broader approach through which Circular Factory invests in structured knowledge sharing within its community, including founder dinners, ecosystem events and the Circular Factory Podcast. The online platform brings together insights from the Circular Factory programme and its community of entrepreneurs and experts, and is structured around six pillars: Technology, Finance, Feedstock, Customers, Team & Organisation, and Impact. For each theme, the knowledge base provides an overview of relevant experts, practical tools and templates, and in-depth content such as podcast episodes.

The knowledge base is designed as a growing, open resource. Founders and experts with experience in building or scaling circular and biobased factories are invited to contribute their knowledge and lessons learned, helping to further develop the platform.

Circular Factory is an initiative by Tekkoo and BlueCity, focused on accelerating the industrial scale-up of circular and biobased technologies in the Netherlands. What started as a programme has since evolved into a national platform. The Circular Factory Knowledge Base is supported by DOEN Foundation.
