Biophilica is a startup that makes an alternative to leather from green waste. The material is compostable, recyclable and locally made, and can be used for shoes, bags and watch bands, among other things. Mila Nameth about participating Circular Factory in 2022: "We gained valuable insights for planning our factory stage by being part of Circular Factory. We are evaluating co-siting with a large feedstock supplier. We would warmly recommend any biomaterials startup 1-3 years away in scaling their innovation to join Circular Factory!"
