Circular Factory: The Podcast

Honest stories, hard lessons, and real insights from the people building the factories of the future.

The Circular Factory Podcast is a six-part series that dives deep into what it really takes to build a circular factory: from feedstock to financing, from FOAK design to the human side of scaling. Made by founders, for founders, the show brings together entrepreneurs and experts working on biobased and circular scale-ups: those building the next generation of industry.

Why this podcast

In the Netherlands, we aim to be fully circular by 2050. But our startup ecosystem still mostly rewards digital and software-based growth. The founders developing physical, capital-intensive and impact-driven factories face a very different journey: one that’s often invisible, underfunded and misunderstood. At the same time, we see building biobased and circular factories takes years of iteration, tough decisions, and serious capital. Yet most conversations stop at the whiteboard stage.

Circular Factory Podcast aims to

1

accelerate learning between founders, so we can stop reinventing the wheel.

2

spotlight the pioneers who are already doing the work (building the factories our circular economy needs)

3

create more understanding and bring more attention to their challenges, and open up the conversation between founders, funders and policymakers about what scaling real-world impact truly requires.

By founders, for founders

The Circular Factory Podcast was born from our own community of 50+ entrepreneurs scaling biobased and circular production technologies. They asked for a space to share real lessons, battle scars and breakthroughs – and we listened.

Hosted by Circular Factory intiators Sabine Biesheuvel (BlueCity) and Lindy Hensen (Tekkoo & PeelPioneers), both founders themselves, the show goes beyond theory. What to expect? Honest founder-first stories, hard-won lessons and the kind of operational insight you won’t find in a white paper.

Listen to season 1: From lab to factory

Across six episodes, we explore the key hurdles every circular founder faces when moving from pilot to production. The first episode drops November 19, 2025, followed by weekly releases through January 14, 2026. Listen via Spotify through this link
